Western NV Supply

General Description
Western Nevada Supply's is a wholesale company started by Jack Reviglio and Bill Higgins in 1964 and expanded to Carson City in 1996. It also operates stores in Elko, South Lake Tahoe, Bishop, Susanville and Truckee.  This new facility in Carson City is expected to employ 22 plus people.

The building is located at Frontage Road and Clear Creek Avenue, off South Carson Street in an area expected to be prominent for commercial activity once the freeway is completed in 2010. The Carson City bypass will connect with South Carson Street at the base of Spooner Summit next to the new store.

The new 14,000 - sq ft store and showroom gives them the ability to carry more inventory and provide better customer service.  This facility includes a 1,600-square-foot showroom for their high-end plumbing fixtures.  The structure also features a steel mezzanine to create a full second floor.  The showroom floor utilized stained concrete while radiant heating was used in the sidewalk entry to prevent snow and ice buildup.

This project utilized pre-engineered steel to maximize flexibility and reduce construction costs.  The architectural requirements were met by employing economical features consistent with pre-engineered steel such as specialty wall panels, overhangs, gable, hip roof details and a rock wainscot.

Special Challenges
Being located off of Interstate 395 the architectural and aesthetic requirements the city required while keeping the project affordable were one of the most challenging aspects of the project.
