General Description
Dynamic Isolation Systems (DIS) is the leader in the Seismic Isolation of bridges and buildings. More than 250 buildings and bridges are protected from earthquakes by DIS seismic isolators. DIS Seismic Isolators protect hospitals, bridges, historic buildings, condominiums, data centers, emergency response centers, telecommunication buildings and manufacturing facilities.
The 60,000 s.f. facility consists of concrete tilt panels, structural steel and panelized roof system. DIS was a fast track, design assist project utilizing Southland Industries, and IES for the  mechanical, plumbing and electrical design build. The project’s location in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center allowed the project to be broken up into multiple permits for grading, slab/foundation, shell and TI. Having the permits split up gave us the ability to start construction on the site while the building was still under design. The main manufacturing area was completed and turned over for installation of equipment and materials while the office was being completed.
