Carson City Toyota

General Description

The Carson City Toyota Project was challenging because of the many different uses of the building from sales showroom, administrative offices, parts inventory and storage, state of the art service department, and car wash / detail center for a total of 49,000 square feet. Site development for the project included working with NDOT to modify Carson Street to allow for acceleration and deceleration at the Toyota drive entrance as well as a left turn lane. The site work included coordinating with Carson City who had a major utility and infra structure project underway at the same time. Structurally there were two types of construction. The Parts, Service, and Car Wash were masonry construction with a panelized wood roof structure. The Showroom and Administrative Offices was constructed with wood framing. Exterior finishes include: stucco, painted masonry, and aluminum panels. The project included interfacing with the various managers of the different departments to achieve their goals for the department’s performance. We also coordinated the work involved in the installation of the car wash equipment and the service department equipment. We worked closely with the Owner to add custom touches to the design dictated by the Toyota Image Program. The Owner upgraded the Customer Lounge to include a massive see-through fireplace in the center of the seating area. Furnishings and fixtures were also upgraded by the Owner. As General Contractor, Miles Construction was responsible for permitting, budgeting, scheduling, contract negotiation and execution, change order resolution, and the completion of the construction and close-out processes.
